day one: may twenty fifth

this is going to be my new exercise/food journal. I don't intend anyone to follow it. I might also keep track of books i'm reading or other random things that don't make it into my other blog.

today i did nothing exercise wise. I worked like crazy because it is friday and i was in the drive-through.

Yesterday I did a twenty minute pilates dvd - windsor. the day before that I hiked partway up the bump and grind trail. I need to stretch my legs but haven't yet. So, today I rested. I have also been trying to eat less, just consciously paying attention to when I am actually hungry and when I am full. And this week, I have been drinking very little alcohol, caffeine, and staying away from refined white flours and sugar. we had breaded fish two nights ago, and I made a taco salad yesterday that had fried corn tortilla chips. I felt overly full after that. Today also after my smoothie and sandwich at work I felt near to sick from overeating. I am wondering if my metabolism has slowed, or perhaps that I need to re-acclimate to a post-half-marathon-training diet, since that was now five months ago and I seem to have steadily put on weight. Not that I am overweight, at 5'7" and 128lbs. My measurements currently:

4.25.10

waist-27

lower ab-33

hips-38

chest-34

arms- 11 at top, 10.5 bicep

thigh-22

What I would like to be at is the same weight, but toned and less fat. I wish I had a way to measure my body composition, as I feel my fat is higher than it should be given my frame. I would also like to be sleeping more - a job hazard at starbucks- and exercising regularly, like 6 days a week, most of them with spencer. I would like to be running 3 miles 3 times a week and not exhausted by it, and also practice pilates and yoga so that i am much more flexible. I would like to lose the fat that is on my upper arms and the slight tire around my middle. Also, something new to me, thigh fat. I have always had rather boyish legs and I liked them. I don't mind hips, because that looks better in clothing, but the excess fat on my upper legs is grossing me out. I think it is what my training muscle turned to after I stopped running 15 miles a week.

that is a lengthy first post, but I just thought I would be consistent with this if it were a blog, since I have not had luck with journals of my own or online.
