thur july 22

today i did a yoga lower body workout on the dvd jenny gave mom.

it was good- i couldn't do all of it because i havent' been doing yoga and strength training lately. it was good- only twenty minutes. I will see how sore I am tomorrow. i have had lower back pain for a few days so I hope this would help, but maybe not. I don't know if it is from work or what.

I think I have figured out a 'normal' schedule for my week from now on. we will see. spencer and i are also going to work out more now that he is DONE with his album. hooray! maybe even join the pd rec center and get into racquetball!

monday july 19th

today keeley came over and we went to our workout room. It was intense! I think I am her Laurie! We went on the treadmills for about 50 minutes! I did some uphill and some running, burned 330 calories (which I have now consumed in wine and a white russian!). Then we did bench press, 12 reps with 20 lbs twice, followed by 10 reps of a triceps lift (weight behind head, elbows in) twice, and bicycle and plank stomach moves. It was good. I felt really energized, and also like the time went by quickly with someone else there. It was fun! Our plan is to do this once a week from now on, depending on her schedule with the kids and nursing. But I think it will be good to have one really intense long workout a week, followed by several shorter ones on my own.

tomorrow is my birthday! I weighed myself at my parents the other day and I was 127. That was midday, so 125, which is where I want to be, but I want to be more muscle and less fat.

I might go shooting tomorrow at a shooting range! Woohoo!!!!

friday july 9th

Today I just walked on the treadmill (at an 8 incline for most of it) for 30 minutes. Watching Divine Design and Barefoot Contessa, of course. I really did not want to go, but knew it'd be good for me, and I'd have more energy, afterward. I did. It was good. And it loosened up my muscles.

I had to compensate for eating oatmeal cookies for lunch. Not that I feel guilty that it was cookies, mostly that subsisting on 150 calories all afternoon was not a great food choice. Dinner was salmon, a great salad, corn-on-the-cob and wine. yum!

Dessert: small bowl of ice cream, with almonds, chocolate sauce and a cherry! I was so tired that I barely stayed awake for Scrubs before falling into bed. New ceiling fan! I never slept so well!

wednesday july 7th

Today was the first day in a week- A WEEK!- that I did any sort of workout. Sigh... My excuse for last thursday through Saturday is cramps! and feeling like barfing, and exhaustion! (though my first month off bc was not as bad as it could be.. maybe things are getting better? my uterus is trying to befriend me? a little late there..)

Anyway, tonight spencer and I went to the workout room when he got home. Treadmill rats for 30 minutes, watching Cash Cab. I did like 11.5 incline for about half of it and then ran a bit. I noticed that going up and down the stairs afterward to take trash out was easier- almost fun? Like my legs enjoyed it. Tomorrow I am hoping to do a strength training session before hanging out with Morgan Oregon...

I haven't measured myself or weighed myself. We're thinking of getting a scale. I am going to measure myself at the end of the month- or perhaps my birthday. That'd be a good routine- yearly weigh-in. No? I think it'll be good, even if I don't have inches gone, I know I am losing some weight and I am getting more consistent with working out. Really going to focus on food also from now on. Tonight we had grilled chicken on salad for dinner. Split one Naan bread from tj's and small glass of wine each. Sated. Ate cereal at dawn- almost done with that!- then an americano, turkey bacon sandwich and smoothie at work, also iced tea, veggie stir fry and brown rice when I got home, a yogurt before spencer got home. I'm doing pretty good today. Last night ate popcorn for dessert. I can't help it- it's my downfall. Trying to limit it to the weekends.

wednesday june 30th

Today I didn't have much energy or time, so I did an arm and butt routine. Both from websites or magazines. It took about fifteen minutes and was really good. The arm one was with weights and I did the fewest reps but I think it was still good- did 5lb weights. The butt thing was basically ballet moves- plies and leg lifts (ack! my french is gone! where is it?). I think I will do this combo together for awhile and see what happens.... it reminded me that I want the nyc ballet workout dvd... if i get birthday money!

monday june 28th

Today I walked on the treadmill for 40 minutes!!! Uphill like at 12 for about 15 minutes and then ran at the end- it was good. Watching the Bourne Ultimatum, so that made me want to be a machine! I love those movies! Then came home and cleaned the house for about an hour and a half! I love a clean house, clean floors and the energy that comes from working out.
